For beauty to unlock a higher feature of your mind it needs to be allowed in. This requires you to be open and receptive to it.
We pass beauty every day. We pass by flowers and trees, winding roads, the sky, or highly crafted architecture, and not “see” it.
Beauty elicits higher emotions in us. We experience awe. And if we allow beauty to touch us deeply, we experience divine universal love.
That which we love we inevitably find beautiful. And consequently that which we find immensely beautiful inspires love.
Most of us walk around lost in our thoughts. Unfortunately most of our thoughts are repetitive, boring, and frequently negative. Negative thoughts create a wall that keep out higher level impressions. This wall allows in only that which matches the energy of the buzzing thoughts. It is possible to stand in the presence of beauty and not see it.
All thoughts in a sense create a wall. Even happy ones. A wall of happy thoughts can serve to keep out negative impressions. However it is easier to drop to a negative level than it is to climb to a positive level. It is easier to fall than climb. It is easier to criticize than to create.
Children are corrected, criticized and scolded more than they are encouraged. It is easier to tell a child that what they are doing and thinking is wrong than to focus on their light. Parents who are buzzing with negativity miss the light. A child’s light gets replaced with the parent’s buzzing negativity. Hence negativity becomes the default setting for many of us.
The good news about this is that now we can use overcoming negativity as a tool to sharpen ourselves. I will expound on that in a future article.
When I was pregnant I became hyper sensitive to beauty. I saw beauty everywhere. The way the trees swayed, the way the clouds floated across the sky, the way the toddler next door yelled “hi” from his balcony at everyone that passed. Even that squirrel that stole my tomatoes looked beautiful. I shooed her away from my plants and she hopped on the the balcony railing and twirled her bushy tail at me in defiance. I apologized.
I watched a movie about giving birth at one of my prenatal classes. The music was of the emotive kind. My heart swelled with love. I cried. The other women seeing me cry started to cry. Then all the future dads cried.
Perhaps the concoction of hormones present during pregnancy facilitates the seeing of beauty? Perhaps estrogen can put you in a state of higher receptivity to beauty? Perhaps oxytocin?
I also noticed that a sense of presence accompanied these intense emotional states. Interestingly I also have noticed that during the middle of my monthly cycle when both estrogen and testosterone peak, moments of presence come on seemingly by themselves and more frequently than at other times. I feel more energetic during this time of the month. I lift more in the gym than at other times.
Ovulation and Pregnancy requires energy. The same energy that produces life creates consciousness. So it makes sense that during ovulation and pregnancy there is more life energy to evoke moments of conscious presence. In men the energy that produces sperm can evoke presence. In both women and men this energy can be used for a higher spiritual aim.
However one need not be pregnant or ovulating or producing sperm to experience beauty or presence. I can put myself in a receptive state intentionally at any time of the month.
The feelings evoked by beauty unlock a connection with the divine. You partake in the divine. You reflect the divine. You become a conduit of beauty. This makes you magnetic.
A heart filled with love also powers manifestation. You are never more powerful and magnetic than when you are filled with love. It is fitting that I felt so full of beauty and love during pregnancy when I was manifesting a human.
So What To Do:
1. Be Receptive To Beauty. For a person who is particularly negative this may require meditation.
2. Pay Attention To Nature. Nature is endowed with beauty. The sky, the trees, the singing of the birds. The sunrise the sunset.
3. Intentionally Immerse Yourself In The Beautiful. Look at art and architecture. Have conversations with beautiful minds. Listen to beautiful music. Read inspiring literature. Subscribe to this publication if you haven’t yet.
4. Look Into Your Eyes In The Mirror. Stand in awe of the consciousness present in your eyes. This is you partaking in creation. You are a flame of life.
5. Declutter. Even in a cluttered dusty apartment beauty exists. The way papers stack up on your desk like a tower of perfectly cut rectangles reminiscent of Plato’s forms, or the way the dust settles like fallen snow on the amethyst paper weight you got for your birthday. But there is a point at which the clutter creates irritation. Feelings of irritation buzz about and create an emotional wall that compromises your receptivity to beauty. So clean it up.
With a heart filled with beauty you will be unstoppable. You will be one with the force.
Another way to invoke higher level emotions is to induce a Eureka moment. I wrote about it here.
